I was pleasantly surprised! As someone from the Pacific Northwest and with Japanese heritage, sushi has been a real struggle to let go of. I’ve been making a lot of mock products from scratch so I was curious about this quick and easy option. I saw it was made with konjac, which is also something I grew up eating and wasn’t a huge fan of. That said, this was good! Wasn’t high on flavor but the texture is pleasant. I tossed with avocado to get a little fat in there and also added some vegan caviar for a bit more salt. I think adding some nori into the mix would help too- but overall very flexible and easy product to work with!

As a Sushi Chef, I got to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how close the texture & flavor is to Salmon. The texture is somewhere between dense jello and less firm fish, but it holds it’d shape very well! I was able to make cuts from multiple angles without any resistance or tearing, so sashimi, nigiri, and roll prep was easy. Very impressive!

If you gave this to someone and didn’t say it was vegan it would definitely pass for salmon sashimi.

OH! MY! GOSH!! I could eat this every day for the rest of my life! It’s that good. Taste, texture, and feel of “real” salmon sashimi. I eat a LOT of sushi, but wanted to be more environmental and animal conscious. This is the PERFECT replacement for my sashimi and sushi. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this “sashimi”!!
