These heavenly Swedish Meatballs are a vegan homemade version of the iconic Ikea meatballs.
These extra-soft and juicy meatballs are infused with classic spices like allspice and smothered in a mind-blowing sauce that will have you mopping up every last drop.
16oz ground beef (By Future Beef)
3 tbsp Egg Replacement
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp All Spice powder
1/2 tsp salt & pepper
1 tbsp oil
3 tbsp vegan butter
3 tbsp flour
1/3 cup vegan broth (optional)
1/2 cup Heavy cream by Califia Farms
Grate or slice the onion. Add remaining Meatball ingredients. Mix well.
Using a tablespoon, measure a big tablespoon (or an ice cream scooper), Then roll it into shape.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and brown all over.
Add butter into a skillet and melt. Add flour and stir in. Cook for 1 minute.
While mixing, add some of the beef broth – until it thickens.
When the liquid is simmering, add meatballs. Cook for 5 minutes.
Add cream, and simmer for 2 minutes
Serve over mashed potato. For a truly authentic experience, add a dollop of lingonberry jam on the side!
